☕ Quick Take:

A funny, charming, and surprisingly swoon-worthy paranormal romance that will have you falling for a vampire all over again!

📖 Synopsis:

Amelia Collins is successful and single—by choice, of course. But her family doesn’t quite see it that way, and she’s tired of dodging questions about her dating life. When yet another family wedding invite arrives, Amelia hatches a plan: find a fake date to finally get her family off her back.

Enter Reginald Cleaves, a centuries-old vampire with a quirky personality. After a chance encounter, Amelia decides he’s the perfect plus-one to take to the wedding. He’s strange enough to deflect any uncomfortable family questions, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s handsome, too. For Reggie, the idea of posing as Amelia’s date sounds like fun—and it also helps him maintain his cover of pretending to be human.

As they spend time "practicing" their fake relationship, the line between real and pretend starts to blur. Amelia soon realizes that Reggie’s devotion is more genuine than she imagined, and a real relationship with her vampire plus-one might be the best thing she never expected.

💭 My Thoughts:

This was such a delightful follow-up to My Roommate Is a Vampire! Initially, I wasn’t sure about Reginald as the love interest. He was a bit of a comedic sidekick in the first book, and I couldn’t imagine him taking on a romantic lead role. But wow, did my perspective change as the story unfolded!

Reginald’s character development was fantastic. He went from being a goofy, somewhat awkward vampire to a loyal and unexpectedly swoon-worthy partner. I especially loved his transformation (both literally and figuratively) when he finally ditched his horrible outfits—a definite highlight of the book! His devotion to Amelia was sweet, and it made him such a lovable character.

Amelia, on the other hand, was incredibly relatable, especially for anyone dealing with the stress of a busy work life. As someone who works in accounting, I could totally connect with her work stress and the constant pressure from family about her personal life.

And of course, I have to give a special shout-out to the narration! Helen Laser and Daniel Henning were excellent. Henning, in particular, did an amazing job capturing Reggie’s goofy yet charming personality. He balanced the humor and sweetness perfectly, making Reginald a truly lovable character.

🌟 Final Thoughts:

My Vampire Plus-One is a fantastic mix of humor, charm, and paranormal romance. Reginald’s character growth and his relationship with Amelia made this book an absolute joy to read. If you love rom-coms with a paranormal twist, this series is a must-read!

📷 Aesthetic:

Think corporate offices, spreadsheets, and cabins surrounded by snow with quirky vampires, moonlit nights, and fun fauxmance-turned-real romance.
