☕ Quick Take:

A laugh-out-loud paranormal rom-com perfect for spooky season!

📖 Plot Overview:

Cassie Greenberg, a struggling artist on the verge of eviction, stumbles upon the apartment deal of a lifetime. But her new roommate, Frederick J. Fitzwilliam, is not what she expected. He’s the perfect gentleman with a tendency to leave heart-melting notes and ask about her art, but he’s also a vampire. When Cassie finds blood bags in the fridge, Frederick is forced to reveal his secret… and make her a surprising offer.

💭 My Thoughts:

I absolutely adored My Roommate is a Vampire! This paranormal rom-com was the perfect read for spooky season, with just the right balance of humor, romance, and a hint of supernatural. Frederick’s complete inability to fit into the modern world had me laughing out loud more times than I can count. His formal speech and confusion with technology made every interaction a joy.

The growing relationship between Cassie and Frederick was a highlight for me. Their chemistry was adorable, and I loved how they handled their differences—awkward situations and all! It was especially fun to see them navigate their blossoming feelings, despite Frederick’s centuries-old habits clashing with Cassie’s contemporary lifestyle.

Oh, and we can’t forget Reginald! His role in making awkward moments even worse was the comedic cherry on top. He had me cracking up every time he entered a scene.

I listened to the audiobook version, narrated by Gilli Messer, and she absolutely nailed it. Messer brought both Cassie’s spunky energy and Frederick’s old-world charm to life. The contrast between their voices made the banter even better!

🌟 Standout Moments:
  • Frederick’s hilarious misunderstanding of modern slang and technology (especially his attempts at using a phone!).

  • The irresistible slow-burn romance between Frederick and Cassie, filled with awkward yet swoon-worthy moments.

  • Reginald’s unexpected but welcome comic relief in nearly every scene.

📚 Final Thoughts:

If you’re looking for a lighthearted paranormal rom-com with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, My Roommate is a Vampire is an absolute treat. It’s quick, cute, and a little spicy, making it a great pick for the Halloween season. I’m already excited to get my hands on the next book in the series, My Vampire Plus-One. Highly recommend for fans of quirky, feel-good romances!

📷 Aesthetic:

Think cozy Chicago apartment, late-night chats, and a vampire hopelessly stuck in the regency era trying to make sense of modern life.

💬 Discussion:

If you suddenly found out your roommate was a vampire, how do you think you’d react? Would you freak out or take it in stride like Cassie?
