One of my favorite aspects of this book was how the rivalry between Emily and Jackson remained even after they admitted their feelings for each other. Instead of vanishing, it added a delicious layer of sexual tension to their already fiery interactions. Their dynamic was full of playful antics—like Emily stealing Jackson’s nails during his late-night renovations—that had me laughing out loud.
While the story was full of humor and heart, I did feel that some of the emotional baggage weighed it down at times. Emily’s backstory, especially her emotions surrounding her sister Madison, felt a bit excessive, making her motivations overly complicated. Similarly, some of the heavier elements seemed like last-minute additions that didn’t quite match the otherwise lighthearted tone. Narrowing down these aspects could have made the story feel more cohesive.
That said, this book was incredibly cute, delightfully spicy, and wonderfully hilarious. Brittany Pressley and Nelson Hobbs’ narration brought the characters and their witty banter to life, making the audiobook an absolute treat.
If you’re in the mood for a romance filled with humor, heart, and irresistible chemistry, Beg, Borrow, or Steal should be at the top of your list!
