Jason’s roguish charm was irresistible, and I found myself just as charmed as Lia was. Lia herself is a great protagonist—strong, stubborn, and loyal to her family. While the pacing dragged a bit in the middle, the gripping beginning and cliffhanger ending more than made up for it. The ancient Romanesque world, with its gods and rich history, added to the immersive experience, and I always love a fantasy that draws from that era!
