I absolutely loved Foss as a protagonist. Her practicality, self-doubt, and quiet strength made her incredibly relatable. The relationship between Foss and her father was a highlight of the book—it was so touching and beautifully written that it brought me to tears. His unwavering love and support for Foss added an emotional depth to the story that made her journey even more impactful.
The darker take on magic, with its emphasis on the literal harvesting of hearts, was both fascinating and chilling. It added a layer of tension and stakes that made the story even more compelling. Sylvester, with his mysterious past and complex motivations, kept me intrigued throughout, and I loved uncovering the truths behind his actions and the sorceresses’ magic.
Andrea Eames’ world-building was vivid and immersive, bringing to life a kingdom filled with enchantment, curses, and a house with moods of its own. The talking cat companion added a delightful touch of humor and charm, balancing the darker elements perfectly.
Overall, A Harvest of Hearts was an incredible read that combined whimsy, depth, and emotional resonance. It’s a story about finding strength, love, and purpose in the most unexpected of places. I highly recommend it to fans of magical adventures and heartfelt fantasy romance!

Pairs well with a spiced apple chai.
