I’m absolutely in love with this series! A Gathering of Shadows is an incredible sequel to A Darker Shade of Magic. The pacing is perfect, the action is nonstop, and Schwab’s writing is as captivating as ever.

The Element Games are such a fantastic addition to the story, giving readers a front-row seat to dazzling magical duels while exploring the complex relationships between nations. Schwab’s magic system continues to amaze me—it’s so intricate and brilliantly crafted.

I was thrilled to see the reunion between Lila and Kell, and learning more about Prince Rhy’s struggles and his character development made me adore him even more. Schwab’s ability to intertwine personal stakes with high-stakes action is phenomenal.
