That ending left me in tears. It reminded me of why I love these characters so deeply and why this story is my favorite portrayal of found family in fiction. Merritt and Owein’s bond remains the emotional cornerstone of the series—so sweet, lovely, and heartwarming. Their relationship perfectly balances strength and vulnerability, making it endlessly relatable.

I couldn’t get enough of Owein and Fallon’s budding romance. Their connection felt genuine and grounded, filled with peace and comfort—the kind of love everyone hopes to find. Their dynamic added so much depth to the story, and I found myself wholeheartedly rooting for them.

Silas Hogwood, however, stole the show as one of the most terrifying villains I’ve ever read. Every encounter with him had me on edge, completely gripped by the fear of what could happen next. His presence brought an intensity to the narrative that perfectly balanced the quieter, more tender moments.

As always, Holmberg’s writing shines. This book cements why she’s one of my favorite authors. The seamless blend of magical intrigue, deeply emotional character arcs, and fast-paced action is unparalleled. I am already counting down the days for the final book in this incredible series!
