Demi Winters’ Kingdom of Claw is a breathtaking continuation of the Ashen series, blending Viking-inspired fantasy, dark magic, and enemies-to-lovers romance into an irresistible tale of survival and destiny. With rich world-building, compelling characters, and slow-burning intrigue, this sequel raises the stakes and keeps readers enthralled from beginning to end.
This book was just as amazing as the first, if not more. I’m still completely invested in this world and its characters. Saga’s expanded role was a highlight—I loved learning more about the past, the king, and the royal family through her perspective. She’s such a fascinating character, and her dynamic with Kassandr Rurik was one of my favorite parts. Kass is delightfully mysterious, and I can’t wait to unravel more of his secrets in the next book. The growing tension between him and Saga was thrilling, and after the shocking twists at the end, I need to know what happens next!
Of course, Rey and Silla stole my heart. Their relationship was already simmering in the first book, but here, it fully ignites. I loved delving deeper into Rey’s past and seeing him open up to Silla. Their slow-burn romance is everything I wanted—intense, emotional, and deeply satisfying. Their dynamic is sure to be even more captivating in the next book.
Beyond the characters, the magic system continues to impress. It’s intricate, immersive, and woven beautifully into the Viking-inspired setting. The atmosphere of Íseldur is gripping, filled with dark secrets, political intrigue, and the awakening of long-forgotten magic. Every twist and turn kept me hooked, making this series one of the most compelling I’ve read in a while.
Kingdom of Claw is a stunning sequel that delivers on every level—romance, action, world-building, and intrigue. I cannot wait to see where this story goes next!

Pairs well with a hibiscus and blood orange tea.
