Isabel Ibañez’s Where the Library Hides is the stunning conclusion to the story that began in What the River Knows. This lush, immersive historical fantasy transports readers back to Egypt in 1885, where adventure, danger, and a rivals-to-lovers romance combine in a captivating final chapter. If you loved the first book, this sequel will leave you breathless.
This book was everything I hoped it would be and more! Returning to Inez and Whit’s story was such a delight. Whit was just as dashing and mysterious as in the first book, and Inez’s journey, while heartbreaking, was a beautiful testament to her strength and kindness. I was completely drawn into their story, feeling every twist and surprise along the way. There were so many unexpected moments that made this book impossible to put down.
The setting was absolutely lush, immersing me in the rich history and atmosphere of Egypt. Ibañez’s world-building continues to be one of the book’s standout features, with vivid descriptions that make the landscape and history come alive. The story itself was filled with intrigue and adventure, keeping me hooked from beginning to end.
Although I’m sad that Inez and Whit’s story has come to a close, I’m excited for more from this world. The teaser at the end has me hopeful for future adventures and new characters. If you’re looking for a historical fantasy romance that blends emotion, mystery, and a touch of magic, I can’t recommend Where the Library Hides enough. It’s a fitting and satisfying conclusion to a truly unforgettable story.

Pairs well with a Moroccan mint tea.
